The squatters in the old Pottawatomie Casino had the look of fear painted all over their faces. This small society had seen very little combat, and their trepidation only solidified it. Sullivan's Fleet had surrounded the building, and Roland knew that if these people didn't help fight, there was no chance of walking out alive. So, Brad and Roland helped saddle those strong enough to fight with whatever guns were available and anything else suitable as a weapon.

The interior of the Casino was lit with a sulfur yellow glow of the pirate's torches. A familiar man, now dressed in full Sullivan's Fleet regalia walked his way to the head of the flank. Bindi automatically recognized him as the mysterious man who had followed them outside the Turner Hall Ballroom. The same man who had turned down Bindi's flower and was sneaking around the Bradley Center. Roland knew this was trouble. He also knew what that man had followed them for.

“Roland Yates, come on out.” the mysterious man shouted. “If you come on out now, this doesn't have to get nasty.”

Brad, who was on defense near the door, looked confused. “Roland, how do these guys know you.”

“These are the ones I'm in trouble with. This is Sullivan's Fleet.” Roland said. His voiced defeated.

The mysterious man, whom all the other Fleet members looked at with great respect, pulled a tarnished, silver pocket watch out and checked the time. “I think it goes without saying we have your boat. When we took it we found something interesting lying below the deck.”

Roland's eyed widened. Part of him knew what he was referring, but he didn't want to be right.

The mysterious man; the leader of Sullivan's Fleet whistled so loud that every one in the Casino could hear it. Two pirates from the back of the mob dragged the limp body of a young man out to the forefront. He had deep lacerations and his skin was bruised; he didn't look to had been breathing.

Roland's mind thought of Shepherd and thought of his family. Shepherd had been a runaway just as Roland was at the age. Roland wondered if Shepherd's family had missed him. He knew he was responsible and that Shepherd's family would never see him again. They'd never hug their baby boy again, or wish him a Happy Birthday. Shepherd's existence had been wiped out, all because Roland didn't want to pay his docking fees.

“No one else has to die, Roland. Get your ass out here and the others will be spared. You got nowhere to go. We'll find you.” said the Sullivan's leader.

Marvis knew where this would end and didn't want to wait and be attacked. He quickly took aim and fired out the door, aiming for the leader. The bullet whizzed right past the leader's ear, and didn't strike a single person. He laughed out loud. The leader knew how pathetic they were. At that sign of impatience, the leader gave a signal with his hands and the full power of Sullivan's Fleet began to storm the Rotunda.

As soon as they started to rush in Roland, Bindi and Marvis took cover and attacked with their ranged weapons while Brad stayed near the large glass doors and sliced up anyone who made their way in. Roland made it his job to protect Brad as he'd occasional take a few hits with the Pirate's clubs and even a lance or two. The squatter's living in the Casino were no use in this battle and, if anything, were used as fodder for the pirates. Along with Brad, it was a good way to slow them down. Besides Roland, Bindi was the only one that came in contact with a weapon.

Marvis chose not to fire his gun. He kept it unholstered, but had never intended to use it, minus his original shot that started this fight. He spent his time sneaking toward the back door.

Brad had been a flurry of violence with his blades. He would cut throats, stab through the heart and even cut the hamstrings of the pirates with guns. He was violence and death incarnate, and Roland knew he was a good man to have on his side.

It felt liked the fight had been going on for hours and Roland began to doubt his chances of survival. However, he didn't have long to think before the Sullivan's leader waltzed in with his rifle in one hand and a cutlass in the other. Before Brad could attack, the Leader slashed him on the arm, which took him to the floor. Brad fought back and slashed at his side, which caused him to bleed. The leader lifted his sword up and brought it down on Brad causing a large wound on his gut.

Bindi took aim and fired right at the Leader with her crossbow. There was a small flower tied to the end. Bindi hoped that since he had turned down her original flower, her next one would kill him, but it had missed completely. The leader noticed the flower tied to the end and smiled, remembering it's significance.

Marvis was gone. Like a coward he had snuck out the back. Roland was last and knew he had to take out the leader. He aimed his pistol, but Roland questioned the accuracy of his shot. His hands shook when he pulled the trigger, but the bullet had only pierced his shoulder.

The Leader laughed out loud as he beelined for Roland. “That all you got, cocksucker?”

Roland tried his hardest to escape, but the Leader was too quick and his cutlass had too much range. Before Roland even knew what was happening, the Leader was standing over him, his sword positioned high over his head and ready to give Roland his final coup de grace.

Roland's mind went back to his family and his father. He also thought about Shepherd; an unfortunate casualty in a battle that never concerned him. He thought about his easy days on the boat before he thought of nothing more. The leader's cutlass was buried in Roland's head. The man who cheated death once finally had death catch back up. Roland Yates was at peace and gone from the depraved world that didn't want him. He would over stay his welcome no more.
